Who I am!

In my life, I wear many names... some good... some bad. I live my life the way I want to live it. I am part of communities, not just locally, but afar and globally connected. Some names I go by are Quinton, boy quinton, Mr. USB, DJ Stone Cold, or goldbergfan... One name I do not go by is Q... I don't like being referred to as Q nor do I ask anyone to call me Q... If you want to know what to refer to me as or what name to use ask... and if anything call me Quinton. As I live my life as a gay man, I live the life in the Leather community (hence me saying earlier saying my name is boy qunton) as well as in the Bear community. I do understand there is a time and place for everything. With that being said, I am who I am and I am not typical gay man that you see on t.v. or movies or in the media as we are percieved. I am in no way flashy, flamboyant, lady like (Queeny), nor do I act feminine.

Being a collared boy within the leather community, I have been asked many questions and have had things assumed to me. No, the person that administered the collar around my neck is not my master, My SIR/Dominant yes. Are you allowed to touch/grab, reach for my collar? No... You may be look but DO NOT Touch My Collar Period. Doing that disrespects my SIR as well as disrespects the bond between my SIR, family and I. The leather community is not just about people dressing up in leather clothing or riding motorcycles, the leather community is NOT about a bunch of men (or women) meeing up to "hide the snake" (or any other word choice for sex). The leather community is about brotherhood, loyalty, & respect as well as other things. But when it comes down to it all, each of us within this community treat each other how we want to be treated and are there for one another and most of all, it's what's in YOUR heart.

As I stated i the beginning I am who I am. I am a man first and I know when to turn on and off what some call the "Straight Persona", but in all reality I don't care what someone thinks about me meaning I don't care if someone calls me negative names or calls me names to try to bring me down, because i really don't let it bother me. I don't have the time in the day to worry about someone calling me 4 eyes, or Urkel, or Chris Rock... Let's get this straight once and for all, calling me something other than what I answer to is more or less a form of bullying. I don't look like anyone that is portrayed on tv... if i did, god would have made me that way.

Being gay is not just a part of me. I didn't turn gay or decided to be gay. I was born this way, nobody and I mean nobody has a gay sickeness or turns gay even though people like Fred Phelps and haters and anti-gay homophobes may think otherwise.

In a nutshell, I am me and I live my life the way I want to live it. I'm a down to earth guy who treats everyone with respect and treats people the way i'd like to be treated... it's how I was raised (Thanks Mom, Dad & all that have inspired me in my life). I love who I am and love this journey called life!

Till next time....

As a Delaware resident, I am happy to hear this news. My hat goes off to Gov. Jack Markell for approving this and signing it into action. It's about time really for change toward the best and toward equality. When this is signed, it will make Delaware the 8th state to allow same sex civil unions or domestic partnerships. To quote the article I seen on this, "With Markell's signature, the bill will take effect Jan. 1. The legislation gives gay couples the same rights and obligations of those who are married. But it makes clear that marriage is between a man and a woman. Five other states and the District of Columbia allow gay marriage.
"I think it's time for this bill to be passed, and it's going to be good for so many Delawareans for years to come," said Markell, a Democrat. "I'm really pleased with it."
Supporters say the measure provides equal rights for homosexuals in committed relationships.
"We were all created with special, unique, beautiful differences," said chief House sponsor Rep. Melanie George, D-Bear. "Our government respects those differences."

But this won't go into effect until Jan. 1... and with this comes the haters and the anti-gay groups and people who are going to do what they do best... Hate on us!! To quote Philadelphia native and poet:
In reality i'm gonna be who i be
I'm gon be who I be
And I don't feel no faults
For all the lies that you bought
You can try as you may
Break me down when I say

That it ain't up to you

Gon on do what you do

Hate on me hater
Now or Later
Cause I'm gonna do me
You'll be made baby

(Go head and hate)

Go head and hate on me hater
I'm not afraid of
What I got I paid for
You can hate on me...

Bottom line... i'm happy for this change that Delaware is making. It's a step in the right direction of Equality.

The journey thus far of boy quinton

boy quinton May 2011
So far in my journey as a leatherboy, I have recently been wearing a consideration collar to my SIR, SIR John. I am learning more each day of what it means to be a boy and to be in service to a SIR. I am following my protocols as well as learning what my SIR likes and doesn't like. Even though i'm only going into my second month of wearing SIR's collar, I am treating this collar as if it were a training collar.

boy john & boy quinton @ CLAW 10
While being collared, I have attended 2 leather events, Chesapeake Leather Awareness Pride (CLAP) and Cleveland Leather Awareness Weekend (CLAW). I've met alot of people and am making new friends in my journey as boy quinton. So far in my journey, i've seen and/or met such people as Sandy "Mama" Reinhardt, Master John Weal, International Mr. Leather 2010 Tyler McCormack, International Leather Sir, Sir Hugh Russell, as well as the Mid-Atlantic Leather Families for 2010 & 2011 (which include my SIR, SIR John) and lot of other title holders and people within the community.
My brother boy john and I

As I look ahead to the future as a leatherboy, My focus is on SIR and doing all I have to do to earn SIRs training collar as well as SIRs permanent collar when and if I make it that far (i'm not discounting myself saying that, i'm just saying i'm ready and willing to learn and be the best that i can be). In the words of SIR "Remember boy, Clean hands!" SIR, Yes SIR. I have accepted and processed the events of the last 5 months and am ready for the future. boy quinton is ready.

From L to R: Sir John, Ms. Lisa, Mister J, boy john, andy, me,
boy spike, Pup Tripp & boy scott.
Since i've been around the leather community more and learning SIRS house rules, protocols, and getting more into the mindset of being a boy 24/7/365 (Just incase you're wondering i already am in the mindset of a boy 24/7), boy quinton has gotten the chance to spend more time with SIR and my brother boy john and it's been great.

Another thing I will add is that when it comes to the more "adventurous" side of things, I'm learning things about me that I didn't know (or didn't think) i would like. So for me being a newbie to certain things, I should just try it and see if i like it, if not then I will know for sure that it's something I will or won't do.

My brother boy john and I
On a happy note... I am proud of who i'm becoming and in a much better place than I was previously. I have a terrific SIR as well as a wonderful big brother that I look up to and am learning from.... hehehehe I just hope I don't pick up some habits to get me more acquainted with SIR's neck-slap LOL...  but in all seriousness I'm at peace and ready for the next chapter in my life as boy quinton.

In love, leather, service, and brotherhood.

CLAW X (Cleveland Leather Awareness Weekend 10)

As I return back home and sit and think of the long vacation I had that was spent in Baltimore and in Cleveland at C.L.A.W., I sit and think about the wonderful time I had. It was good to be amongst people that are just like me and be in a place where i'm not judged or what not for being who i am as a leather boy. Aside from that I had a great learning experience at CLAW and being around my leather family and community. To quote one of my brothers' in leather, boy dustin, "i came back with my soul and spirit uplift, with a new found sense of confidence and a deep sense of love, strength and belonging to my family and community." I specially thank my SIR, SIR John, my brothers boy john, boy dustin & boy darren, Ms. Lisa & boy spike, as well as Andy (Mid-Atlantic Leather boy), Pup Tripp, Mister J, boy scott, Daddy Rich & Alex, Master John, Jeffrey Payne, Mama Reinhardt, Daddy Tim & Scruffy, and everyone I met at CLAW. I will add that I have never been around this many leather men and women in my life... but in all it was a great trip and experience.

I had a wonderful time and look forward to next year's CLAW. And as i'm typing this up i'm tearing up again.

Much love, hugs and respect to Y/you all... I love you

In love, leather, service and brotherhood.
