As a Delaware resident, I am happy to hear this news. My hat goes off to Gov. Jack Markell for approving this and signing it into action. It's about time really for change toward the best and toward equality. When this is signed, it will make Delaware the 8th state to allow same sex civil unions or domestic partnerships. To quote the article I seen on this, "With Markell's signature, the bill will take effect Jan. 1. The legislation gives gay couples the same rights and obligations of those who are married. But it makes clear that marriage is between a man and a woman. Five other states and the District of Columbia allow gay marriage.
"I think it's time for this bill to be passed, and it's going to be good for so many Delawareans for years to come," said Markell, a Democrat. "I'm really pleased with it."
Supporters say the measure provides equal rights for homosexuals in committed relationships.
"We were all created with special, unique, beautiful differences," said chief House sponsor Rep. Melanie George, D-Bear. "Our government respects those differences."

But this won't go into effect until Jan. 1... and with this comes the haters and the anti-gay groups and people who are going to do what they do best... Hate on us!! To quote Philadelphia native and poet:
In reality i'm gonna be who i be
I'm gon be who I be
And I don't feel no faults
For all the lies that you bought
You can try as you may
Break me down when I say

That it ain't up to you

Gon on do what you do

Hate on me hater
Now or Later
Cause I'm gonna do me
You'll be made baby

(Go head and hate)

Go head and hate on me hater
I'm not afraid of
What I got I paid for
You can hate on me...

Bottom line... i'm happy for this change that Delaware is making. It's a step in the right direction of Equality.

This Week In Gay History

Judge Vaughn R. Walker
This week in gay history Judge Walker, who is an openly gay judge overturned the ban on Prop 8 in California... This will entitle those of the LGBT community to be legally married again. I think this is wonderful news to hear... It's people like him and Harvey Milk that have fought and are fighting for Gay Rights and equality within the LGBT community.

It's even in the constitution that everybody should be equal and have their rights and what not... as stated... "No State Shall....deny to any person within it's jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

But that is not so true within the 45 states that ban or deny members like myself equal rights as a gay man... Come on America it's 2010, not 1960. It's time to move into the future and let go of this hate... not just towards the LGBT community but towards all people...
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger
The other news of the week is that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger finally had a change of heart in a choice of words and is saying that Gays and lesbians SHOULD be allowed to marry... This is could news to hear... but in my opinion it dosen't excuse the fact that he allowed the ban to go in effect 2 years ago... BAD MOVE Mr. TERMINATOR!!!!

Well Untill my next ramble... Stay safe and have fun.

"Plan for Change" Ad

"Plan for Change" is a two-minute advertisement in which Senator Obama will speak directly to the nation on his view of the state of the economy and what he would do to fix it if he is elected pres...

My personal opinion is that he needs to promote his campaign more if he wants to be president. I think it's about time for a democrat to run the country. Because after the last 8 years it's been down hill and with this election I hope everyone gets out and votes.
